It’s the summer holidays and Emily and her brothers have travelled with an orchestra to the famous old town of Salzburg, nestled in the Bavarian Alps. An extraordinary adventure begins when the conductor unexpectedly invites them to discover Mozart’s secret legacy of time travel through the Music Box.
Meeting famous characters from the Bible, the children learn about an amazing story of music and their destiny to follow in Mozart’s footsteps. But they face a growing test of distractions which must be overcome before the final show down where the legacy of music hangs in the balance.
The Music Box is the second book of a trilogy illuminating children (age 7-12) about the three dynamics of Christian discipleship –Up, In and Out. The Ticking Box story is about encountering God’s big story (Up) and the sequel of the Music Box is about the inward journey.
The Music Box novel brings alive some of the characters of the Bible in an entertaining way that will be engaging for adults and make children want to pick up the Bible for themselves.
The Author:
Mark Cowling is married to Rachel and they have three young children who patiently sit through his stories. Since being a boy, when his father made up stories about Woof Woof at bath time and bedtime, Mark has enjoyed writing stories himself. Mark currently works for the Church of England in Greater Manchester and has woven a real experience with an orchestra in Salzburg with some of his teaching illustrations into this journey with the Music Box.
